Glimpses of Godavari

I had a wonderful oppurtunity right after this New Year to travel to the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh with family. Oh boy, I never realised Godavari was so beautiful. You needn't run to Munnars and Ooties to have a weekend getaway.

We took a train from Secunderabad to Rajahmundry on the Friday night. After the showers we took the cab and drove to Pattiseema to take the much talked about Godavari boat ride.

My latest discovery - Chikmagalur

All 4 of us (husband, sister, bro-in-law and me) were these exhausted souls and we needed a break. And the fact that I am leaving Bangalore wanted me more to travel around Bangalore especially in the monsoon. But, we just had the weekend. After some google search and some advise from the trip advisor website, we (infact, it was only me) chose to go to Chikmagalur and we found a nice homestay too which was well recommended by Trip advisor website.

I made a call to Sreedev, the owner of "Woodsway" homestay in Chikmagalur. And he confirmed that rooms were available. Voila, I was one happy soul. Sreedev gave very good directions till the homestay and also some pointers on what to see around Chikmagalur.
